Commissions
Coalition programs only
Commission settings are only available for Coalition programs.
Commissions are the additional costs a merchant assumes to cover the operational costs of the loyalty service. They are expressed as a percentage of each purchase transaction and are added on top of the benefit granted to the member.
How commissions work
When a member makes a purchase, the total cost to the merchant is the sum of:
- The benefit granted to the member (e.g., 5% cashback)
- Any commissions configured in this section
Example:
| Item | Rate | Amount on €100 purchase |
|---|---|---|
| Member cashback | 5.0% | €5.00 |
| Owner commission | 0.5% | €0.50 |
| Sponsor commission | 0.4% | €0.40 |
| Provider commission | 0.1% | €0.10 |
| Total merchant cost | 6.0% | €6.00 |
Commissions are optional. You are not required to set a commission, and you are not required to assign a rate to all three parties.
Commission splitting
See Commission Splitting for details on how to distribute the commission across multiple parties.
