Program Name & General Settings

This section covers the foundational settings of your program: its name, and two optional behaviors that affect how members and merchants interact with it.

Program name

Your program name is the first thing members see when they join. It appears on the app home screen, on receipts, and on the sign-up poster displayed at your points of sale.

Choose a name that is:

  • Short -- one or two words at most
  • Easy to remember and pronounce
  • Distinct from generic terms like "points" or "rewards"

A strong name creates recognition and makes your program feel like a brand in its own right, not just a back-office feature. Members who remember the name are more likely to actively participate.

Examples

"BonusCafé", "FreshCard", "CityPass" -- short, specific, memorable.

Benefit transfer

When enabled, this setting allows members to transfer their accumulated benefits (cashback, points, or stamps) to another member of the same program.

How it works:

  1. You enable the option from this screen.
  2. A member opens the app and initiates a transfer.
  3. The app checks the member's contact list and shows which contacts are also enrolled in your program.
  4. The member selects a recipient and specifies the amount to transfer.
  5. The transfer is applied immediately, limited only by the sender's current balance.

There are no restrictions on transfer frequency. The only limit is the sender's available balance at the time of transfer.

note

This setting applies to all program types (cashback, points, stamps).

Settlement (Coalition only)

Coalition programs only

This setting is only visible if your program is configured as a Coalition.

In a Coalition program, individual merchants issue benefits to customers on behalf of the program. Settlement determines who holds the financial responsibility for those issued benefits.

OptionDescription
Business manages settlementYou assume the financial risk and settle directly with merchants.
Spraed manages settlementSpraed handles settlement on your behalf, acting as the financial intermediary between you and the merchants.

If you are unsure which option fits your business model, refer to your agreement with Spraed or contact support.
