Points
A points program rewards members with points for every qualifying purchase. Points accumulate over time and can be redeemed in several ways, giving you flexibility in how you structure rewards and what behaviors you want to incentivize.
How it works
Every time a member makes a purchase, Spraed assigns points based on the earning rate you configure (e.g. 10 points per €1 spent). Points accumulate in the member's account and can be redeemed according to the redemption mechanics you enable for your program.
Redemption mechanics
Spraed supports multiple redemption models. You can enable one or several depending on your program design:
Monetary conversion
Points convert to a discount at a defined rate (e.g. 100 points = €1 off). The member applies points at checkout to reduce the amount due. This is the most straightforward redemption mechanic and works similarly to cashback, but with a conversion step.
Alternative-price products
Specific products in your catalog are available at an alternative price: purchasable entirely with points, or with a combination of points plus a cash contribution. This is useful for promoting specific items or creating aspirational rewards without discounting your standard pricing.
Points catalog
Members browse a dedicated catalog of rewards — products, vouchers, experiences, or partner offers — exclusively redeemable with points. A points catalog creates a distinct reward economy separate from your regular transaction flow, which can drive higher perceived value and longer-term engagement.
Why points work
Points programs create a sense of accumulation and progress that keeps members engaged between purchases. The "earn and save" dynamic encourages repeat visits, and the variety of redemption options lets you tailor the reward experience to your audience.
Points also give you more control over liability compared to cashback: you define the conversion rate, the eligible redemption options, and any expiry rules — so the financial exposure is more predictable.
Configuring a points program
When setting up a points program you define:
- Earning rate — points awarded per currency unit spent
- Eligible transactions — all purchases or specific categories
- Redemption mechanics — which of the above redemption types are active
- Conversion rate — how many points equal one currency unit (for monetary conversion)
- Catalog — if using a points catalog, the products and rewards available
- Expiry rules — whether points expire after a period of inactivity
