Create a promotion
Every promotion starts with a set of basic fields that identify it and define its fundamental parameters. These fields are configured first, before choosing the promotion type, constraints, and communication options.
Basic fields
Name
The name is the internal label used to identify the promotion in the dashboard. It is also shown to participants in the list of available promotions inside the app, on the Your card screen. Choose a clear, descriptive name that immediately communicates the benefit being offered.
Examples: Double points weekend, May extra cashback, Summer opening promotion.
Description
The description lets you add detail about the promotion that participants will see. Use it to explain the mechanism in plain terms, call out any relevant conditions, or give context for the campaign.
The description is a free-text field. Keep it concise and focused on the benefit for the customer rather than the technical configuration.
Validity period
Every promotion has a start date and an end date. Outside this interval the promotion is neither visible nor applicable by participants.
The start date can be set in the future: in this case the promotion is created and saved but is not yet active. This allows you to prepare campaigns in advance and schedule them to go live automatically.
You can create multiple future promotions at the same time and leave them in scheduled status. They become visible to participants automatically on the configured start date, with no manual action required at launch time.
Associated loyalty program
A promotion is always linked to a specific loyalty program. In Spraed every promotion acts on the earning rules of that program, and benefits are credited in the program's currency -- cashback, points, or stamps.
If you manage more than one program, make sure you select the correct program before proceeding. The program association cannot be changed after the promotion is saved.
What happens after saving
Once the basic fields are saved, the promotion exists in draft state and is not yet visible to participants. You then configure:
- The promotion type, which defines how benefits are amplified. See Promotion types.
- The constraints, which define the conditions under which the promotion is valid. See Constraints.
- The communication elements, including the cover image, push notification, shareable link, and terms and conditions. See Communication.
The promotion is published and made visible to participants only after all required fields across all sections have been completed and the promotion has been explicitly activated.
